Assalamu Alaykom,
Growing up in the heart of the Middle East, I was surrounded by the stories of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the noble Sahaba (may Allah be pleased with them). These stories were more than just words; they were a part of our everyday lives, woven into conversations, teachings, and bedtime tales. Everyone seemed to know them by heart, and so did I. I guess I didn’t really grasp the importance of these powerful stories back then because they were as constant and familiar as the air I breathed.
Life has a way of changing things. Moving to the UK, I found that these beautiful stories—our very own superheroes—are not emphasized in the same way, especially in our masjid gatherings. Life’s responsibilities then began to take hold. Working long hours in a busy hospital as a doctor in my final years of surgical training, I realized how easily the heart can become distant from its foundation. Worries of dunya—materialism, work, and the fleeting nature of this life—creep in from Shaytan, leaving little room for the stories that once uplifted and inspired us.
This website is my effort to return to those roots—to reconnect with the uplifting legacy of our Prophet ﷺ and his Sahaba. By researching, writing, and sharing their remarkable lives, I hope to strengthen my own Imaan one story at a time. This journey is personal, but it is one I want to share with you.
As a father to a curious 6-year-old boy, I see the need now more than ever to pass these stories down. I want his heart to be built block by block with Imaan, grounded in the examples of real heroes— not tiktokers and “influencers”.
I carve out an hour or two outside of work, often late at night or early in the morning, to immerse myself in researching and writing. It’s a small window of time, but it brings me joy. For me, this is not just about storytelling; it’s about nurturing our hearts, reminding us of who we are, and reconnecting to the strength and beauty of our Deen.
This platform is for parents, young people, seekers of knowledge, and anyone who feels a longing for the comfort of these stories. It’s for those of us who sometimes get lost in the busy life and need to briefly pause, reflect, and realign our hearts with the light of Imaan.
Thank you for joining me on my little journey. I pray that together, we can grow closer to Allah, deepen our understanding of our faith, and find strength in the stories of our true role models.
With warmth and gratitude,
Mohammed
